This one is for all of the manual drivers out there. One of the first things I noticed after taking delivery of my 2017 M2, was that there was an obscene amount of play in the clutch pedal from the moment that your foot was all the way down to the floor up to the point where the clutch engaged. This is a cheap and simple solution to fix that! It is also adjustable so you can really dial in that engagement point.

You can pick up this clutch stop HERE.

Tools needed to perform this task:

  • Your hands.

First step, locate your clutch pedal. Where the clutch arm connects to the floor board, you will see two rubber slits. The end of the clutch arm is located right behind there. Peel those open to expose the clutch stop location. You will see a circular opening. There may be a little disc already in yours, go ahead and pop it out with a flat head or prick tool.

We are going to insert the rivet side of the clutch stop directly into that hole.

Go for a drive and see how it feels. If it is too aggressive for you and the clutch is engaging too fast, go ahead and remove a disc or two. It will feel different at first, you are used to your original clutch play. I left all of my discs in and I really like the way the clutch feels now. Much faster engagement!
